Nominations are open for the Fusion Traveling Hearts award, a program designed to celebrate the positive impact and accomplishments of healthcare professionals traveling with the company.  

The Traveling Hearts award recognizes travelers living up to the company’s core purpose of improving the lives of everyone they touch. Traveling Heart awards celebrate nursing and allied travelers who provide extraordinary patient care, empower those around them, and advocate for refreshing healthcare. Nominations are open through March 31, 2025; winners will be announced this summer. 

The award launched in 2024 as a commitment to recognizing nursing and allied healthcare professionals as the industry experiences mass burnout and clinician shortages. Fusion honored one allied professional and one nursing professional who were nominated by their peers.  

Respiratory therapist Brent Roberts was awarded the Traveling Heart honor in 2024 after his nominator expressed his gratitude for working with Brent when he saved the life of a child brought to the emergency room choking on a rock. He and his teammate spent two hours manually resuscitating the child.

Fusion is also a DAISY Foundation partner to celebrate and recognize nurses by collecting nominations from patients, families, and coworkers. Nurses are awarded a DAISY for providing extraordinary compassionate care to their patients and others around them.
